Oppo is gearing up to introduce a new addition to its mid-range A series—the Oppo A79 5G. The upcoming smartphone has made appearances on multiple certification platforms, including NBTC, TUV IMDA, FCC, and TUV Rheinland. It has also been listed on the Camera FV5 website. This follows the release of the Oppo A78 5G earlier this year, and it’s reasonable to assume the A79 5G will act as its successor.

The NBTC listing discloses the device’s model number, CPH2557, affirming its existence. Further certifications by IMDA and TUV Rheinland confirm the device will have a 4,880mAh battery, likely rounded to 5,000mAh, with 33W fast charging support. The device’s dimensions have also been revealed; it will measure 165.61×76.02×7.99mm and weigh 193 grams.

The FCC listing validates that the smartphone will run Android 13 OS based on ColorOS 13.1 right from the get-go. Connectivity options appear to be comprehensive, including 5G, FM Radio, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac, GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Galileo, SBAS, and NFC support.

On the imaging front, the Camera FV5 database reveals the Oppo A79 5G will sport a 50-megapixel primary camera with an f/1.8 aperture, which will capture images in 12.5-megapixel resolution. The front of the device will feature an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

As of now, specifics about the device’s processor and storage options remain undisclosed. With these multiple certifications, the launch of the Oppo A79 5G seems imminent. Keep an eye out for official announcements for a full spec rundown.
